Am I required to upgrade my Freecharge Wallet to Full KYC?
As per RBI’s PPI Guidelines, a Minimum KYC Wallet is valid for 24 months from the date of Issuance. If you had signed up on FreeCharge before 1st March 2018, validity of your FreeCharge Wallet will end on 31st Aug 2019. Otherwise, your Wallet will be valid for 18 months from the date of submitting Minimum KYC Details. (You may check the expiry date on App).After expiry, you won’t be able to load money in your FreeCharge Wallet. To continue using FreeCharge Wallet, you are required to complete KYC and convert it into a Full KYC Wallet. However, this doesn’t impact your FreeCharge account. You may continue to use other payment options like UPI, Debit or Credit Cards and Netbanking etc on FreeCharge and Merchants accepting FreeCharge.
